Pictures Of The Week
Color From Maine
By Mike Collins

This maple tree is in our front yard. This is what I have to see when I get up in the mornings while
I'm enjoying my cup of coffee on our front porch.
As you can see we have no asphalt, center stripes, safety lanes or
shoulders. The most dangerous aspect is our moose think these woods
belong to them and they will take the right-of-way.
This stream flows through out the year except for the a few winter
months when it takes time to to rest.
I see this picture as not just a crystal clean lake but God is using
it to repeat the beauty of our fall foliage.
Each year a rock-skipping contest is held on this lake. There is no age limit - young, old, boys, girls and
handicapped come from across the country with hopes to win the blue ribbon at the National Rock Skipping Contest.
No taxpayer dollars are spent on such things as traffic signs letting
drivers know about a curve ahead. Mainers seem to think all drivers
should see the curves and decide how fast they should take them.
