Janet Fish - Realist Painter
Janet Fish was born in Boston and raised in Bermuda. Her grandfather, was an American Impressionist, her father an art history teacher, and her mother, Florence Whistler Fish, a sculptor and potter. She was one of the first women to receive her MFA from Yale University.
Fish sold out her work before the opening of her first one-woman exhibit in 1971. She has exhibited in Chicago, New York, Japan, Washington D.C., and Cincinnati. Her works are in many museums including: The Dallas Museum of Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Arts, Boston, the Cleveland Museum of Art, and The Whitney Museum.
She is a realist interested in light, movement, and rich color.
