LeRoy Neiman
World renowned painter, printmaker, author and bon vivant was born in 1927. he is an American painter and printmaker. Neiman is one of the finest artist of sporting subjects of the 20th century. His loose impressionistic painting style is dynamic in relation to the bright colors of his works. He has been a working artist for five decades and his biography contains 354 full-color illustrations. Neiman uses bright markers, conte crayons and ink or watercolors to portray the scenes of casinos, restaurants, sport figures, movie stars, and famous figures.
Columbia School for the Arts houses the LeRoy Neiman-Center for Print studies. Students are offered printmaking techniques which include intaglio, lithography, silkscreen, relief, photography, and digital imaging in a beautiful environment. Professional artist are also included in the classes which offer techniques few colleges feature today.
Neiman's prints are offered on the internet, some starting at $3,000 for a signed copy. His pen and ink drawings are listed at $15,000 and up. Neiman is a prolific artist with a unique talent exhibited in a vast array of subject matter. His style easily changes with new interests and varied media.
